  1. Upon receiving a heat request from the thermostat, the control system initiates checks for flame simulation and failsafe during the testing time tp.
  2. If no flame signal is detected during the testing time, the burner is activated: Voltage is applied to valve 1 and the ignition transformer.
  3. The testing time extends up to 10 seconds if flame simulation is detected. Subsequently, the control system enters lockout.
  4. Following burner activation, a flame signal must be measured within the safety time. In this case, voltage is applied to valve V2, which opens.
  5. If a flame fails to establish, the control system enters fault-lockout.
  6. Throughout burner operation, the control system continuously monitors for a flame signal.
  7. The burner control unit also checks for a flame signal after shutdown.
  8. If the flame persists for approximately 10 seconds after shutdown, the control system initiates fault-lockout.
  9. The fault-lockout triggers internal and external fault indications.
  10. With IFS 111 IM, voltage is applied only to the external fault indication if the thermostat calls for heat.
  11. Resetting following a fault-lockout can be done via internal or external push-button.
