Upon thermostat activation, the control system checks for flame simulation and failsafe within the testing time. If no flame signal is detected, the burner starts with voltage applied to valve 1 and the ignition transformer. If flame simulation is detected, the testing time extends up to 10 seconds before entering lockout. Following burner start, a flame signal must be detected within the safety timeframe, triggering valve V2 opening. If no flame is detected, a fault-lockout occurs. Continuous flame signal monitoring occurs during burner operation, also after shutdown. If the flame persists after shutdown, a fault-lockout is initiated, indicating both internally and externally. The IFS 111 IM model applies voltage to external fault indication only upon thermostat activation. Resetting from fault-lockout is possible via internal or external push-button.

The housing is made of impact-resistant plastic. The upper housing features a controller and amplifying stage, along with a reset button (labeled as A) and fault indication at the top. It includes a plug socket with terminals, an earthing strip, and retaining screws. Seven openings for cable glands sized Pg 9 (labeled as B) are available. The device complies with applicable standards, including DIN 4788 and VDE regulations.
