Honeywell VR8304M3509/U gas valves are designed for reliable gas flow control in home heating systems, boilers and water heaters. They perform standard functions and have flexible configuration, allowing them to be supplemented with various devices, such as pressure regulators, throttle valves, devices for smooth ignition, two-level regulation and control of gas flow. The Resideo VR8304M 3509/U Compact Automatic gas regulators provide different power options, including mains and low-voltage, and also have different bandwidth.

Each of these gas solenoid valves is equipped with two electrical actuators. The first device is designed to open a Class A or B safety valve according to EN 161, while the second device opens the main valve of class B, C or J, also according to EN 161. These valves are versatile and capable of working with various types of gases, including MFD Group A (G110), MFD Group B (G120), natural gas H (G20), natural gas L (G25) and LP (G30) liquefied gas. This gas valve is also used in BUDERUS boilers.

Standard conditions

• Flow indication, m3/h

• Registration of the output pressure using a sensor connected to a half-inch pipe, the length of which is 10 times the diameter, by means of a short hose with a length equal to 5 diameters

• Rated voltage

• Vertical position, i.e. the position when the actuators are on top

• Nominal pressure 25 mbar, dry air at 20 °C

• Ambient pressure = 1013 mbar

• Ambient temperature = 20 °C

• 2.8mm output aperture

General provisions

The VR8304 M 3509/U gas valve offers the following general features:

1. Compatible with various ignition systems: This valve is ideal for gas heating systems supporting DSI, HSI or IP ignition for the main burner.

2. Control of the main burner: The control of the main burner is carried out using two-position electrical actuators, providing precise control over the process.

3. Gas filtration: The valve includes a built-in fine mesh filter on the inlet side, and it can be equipped with an outlet mesh filter on request. This improves the protection of the system from dirt and particles.

4. Model range with different closing strength: To meet different needs, different valve models with different closing forces are available, including options B+ B, B+ J, B+C, A+ J and A+C.

5. Pressure monitoring: For the convenience of monitoring and adjusting the burner pressure, there are pressure measuring fittings with an outer diameter of 9 mm on the input and output sides.

6. Flexible mounting: The valve can be mounted within a 90° angle in any direction from the vertical position of the two-position electric actuator, which provides flexibility during installation.

7. Easy installation: Two threaded mounting holes are provided at the base of the gas valve for reliable installation on the heating system.

8. Electrical connection: The two-position actuator of the tracking type of the main valve is equipped with an electrical connector according to DIN standard, which simplifies its connection with AMP connectors, ensuring reliable control of the gas flow in heating systems.

The principle of operation

The Honeywell VR8304M3509/B regulator provides automatic control of the gas outlet pressure according to the following principle:

1. Positive feedback system: The regulator is equipped with a built-in positive feedback system, which guarantees reliable closure of the main valve in the event of a power failure or gas supply. This ensures safety and prevents possible emergencies.

2. Stable outlet pressure: The system ensures a stable outlet pressure, regardless of changes in the gas inlet pressure. Thus, the regulator is able to maintain a constant outlet pressure, which is important for the efficient operation of gas systems.

3. Pressure difference compensation: When disconnecting small volumes of gas from the regulator, it automatically adjusts the outlet pressure to compensate for the pressure difference. This ensures the stability and reliability of the system even under changing conditions.

4. Spring lock: If there is no need to adjust the pressure, the regulator spring can be locked. In this case, the full pressure of the “servo gas” will determine the position of the main valve, which allows you to control the output pressure with accuracy and efficiency.

Thus, the Honeywell VR8304M 3509/B regulator provides reliable and automatic gas pressure control, ensuring the stability and safety of gas systems.
