Honeywell VR4605DB1008U gas valves are a reliable means for controlling the flow of gas in home heating systems, boilers and water heaters. They are equipped with standard functions and are capable of additional adjustment using pressure regulators, throttle valves, devices for smooth ignition, two-level regulation and control of gas flow. The Resideo VR4605DB 1008U Compact Automatic gas solenoid valves can work with various power sources, including mains and low-voltage, and have different capacity.

These regulators are equipped with two electrical actuators: one for controlling a safety valve of Class A or B according to EN 161, and the other for controlling the main valve of class B, C or J according to EN 161. They are capable of working with various types of gases, including MFD Group A (G110), MFD Group B (G120), natural gas H (G20), natural gas L (G25) and liquefied gas LP (G30).

Standard conditions

1. Indication of the flow rate in cubic meters per hour (m3 /h).

2. Registration of the output pressure using a sensor connected to a half-inch pipe, the length of which is 10 times the diameter of the pipe. This is done through a short hose, the length of which is equal to 5 pipe diameters.

3. Rated voltage.

4. Vertical position, meaning that the actuators are on top.

5. Nominal inlet pressure is 25 millibars, dry air at a temperature of 20 °C.

6. Ambient pressure = 1013 millibars.

7. Ambient temperature = 20 °C.

8. Output diaphragm with a diameter of 2.8 mm.

General provisions

This VR4605 DB 1008U gas solenoid valve has the following characteristics:

1. Compatible with various gas heating systems supporting ignition methods such as DSI, HSI or IP for the main burner.

2. The main burner is controlled by two-position electrical actuators.

3. The presence of an internal fine-mesh filter on the inlet side of the valve, as well as the possibility of installing an output mesh filter on request.

4. Different models with different valve closing force: B+ B, B+ J, B+C, A+ J and A+C.

5. The presence of pressure measuring fittings on the inlet and outlet sides of the valve with an outer diameter of 9 mm, designed to control and adjust the pressure of the burner.

6. The possibility of mounting the regulator within an angle of 90° in any direction from the vertical position of the two-position electric actuator.

7. The presence of two threaded mounting holes in the base of the valve for mounting on the heating system.

8. The use of a two-position actuator of the tracking type for the main valve, equipped with an electrical connector according to DIN standard for convenient connection with AMP connectors.

Principle of operation

The principle of operation of the Honeywell VR4605DB1008B gas regulator is based on automatic control of the gas outlet pressure. It is equipped with a built-in positive feedback system, which guarantees reliable closure of the main valve in case of power loss or a change in gas intake. This ensures a stable output pressure regardless of input pressure fluctuations.

When the regulator transmits small volumes of gas, the outlet pressure is adjusted to compensate for the difference in pressure. If pressure adjustment is not required, it is possible to block the regulator spring. In this case, the full pressure of the “servogas” determines the position of the main valve and controls the output pressure.
