The Resideo VR420VE5001-0000 gas valves are designed to control the flow of gaseous fuel in various devices, such as gas burners, gas boilers, melting furnaces and incinerators. They can be used both in systems with spark ignition of the burner (DBI) and in systems with a pilot burner (IP).

These valves are supplied with two main valves: a safety valve (V1), which opens and closes quickly, and a second one (V2), which can operate both fast with flow control and slow with adjustable opening and flow control. A pressure control valve is located between these valves.

There are 4 flanged connections on each side of the main body for the installation of additional equipment, such as the C60VR series inlet pressure switch, C60VR series intermediate pressure switch or valve inspection system (VPS) with pressure switch. These devices can be placed on different parts of the housing of the Honeywell VR420VE 5001-0000 gas solenoid valve.

Design and principle of operation

Honeywell VR420 VE 5001-0000 combined  gas valves are controlled by two-position devices that open and close the valves. The devices include a coil and a sleeve, inside of which there is a plunger connected to a rubber valve and covered with a special material.

These valves work as a system that keeps them in the open position due to the pressure of the spring. The main component is a pressure servo controller with a pressure relief valve built into the regulator diaphragm that controls the control valve.

When power is supplied to both actuators, gas flows through the diaphragm into the system and the regulator. This pressure raises the diaphragm, and when the control valve opens, the pressure generated by the valve is regulated by the diaphragm through feedback.

If the generated pressure exceeds the set value, the control valve reduces the operating pressure to close partially. This allows the exhaust pressure to be maintained at a constant level, regardless of changes in the intake pressure. When disconnected, a small volume of gas is discharged into the main chamber.

If the pressure needs to be adjusted, an adjustment screw is used. In case no regulation is required, the full pressure determines the position of the control valve based on the pressure.

Pressure measurement points

The VR420VE5001-0000 gas control unit has a number of connection points for pressure measurement, pressure switch installation or IP applications.

The following pressures can be measured:

• P – kindling gas

• 1+2 – inlet pressure

• 3 – intermediate pressure

• 4 – exhaust pressure

The corresponding numbers are indicated on the sides of the valve.

Standards

With regard to electrical safety, the Resideo VR420VE 5001-0000 CVI valves can be used in devices conforming to the European standards of the EN 60335 series, which establish requirements for

Honeywell VR420 VE 5001-0000 gas valves also meet all standards for electromagnetic compatibility for non-industrial and industrial installations.
