The M6274F1009-F engines are engines with astatic regulation, three-wire power supply and spring return or without spring. Use these motors in damper or valve actuators together with controllers that support single-pole switching to two directions or astatic control mode.

The M6274F1009-F motors are equipped with a built-in electrically isolated feedback potentiometer, which is used to measure the position of the motor shaft and can be used to synchronize the 90 series slave motors or for secondary balancing of the external control circuit.

Features

• Are used to replace engines M644, M944B,E,G,H,J,K,R,S and M945B,C,G,K,L,AD.

• The built-in junction box provides protection against external conditions of NEMA 3 class.

• The built-in return spring returns the motor shaft to its normal position after a power outage.

• The motor and electrical circuits operate from a voltage of 24 VAC. Models are provided with a transformer installed by the manufacturer or with the possibility of installing a built-in transformer at the place of application.

• Quick-release terminals as standard, an adapter for threaded terminals is provided.

• An adapter bracket is provided to adapt the height of the shaft position in accordance with that for older engines.

• The engine stroke can be adjusted at the installation location (from 90° to 160°).

• Body made of die-cast aluminum.

• Built-in auxiliary switches can be installed by the manufacturer, or added at the place of application.

• The nominal standard full stroke time is 30 seconds (90° stroke) and 60 seconds (160° stroke). Engines with a different full-stroke time can be supplied.

• Spring return motors can be used to move the rods of normally open or normally closed valves from the drive and from the auxiliary end of the shaft.

• All models are equipped with shafts with two working ends (with a groove and an internal thread at both ends).

• All models are equipped with cams for auxiliary switches.

• Constant torque over the entire voltage range.

• The motors are designed for both normally open and normally closed valves and dampers.

• The M6274F1009-F is equipped with an electrically isolated feedback potentiometer, which is used to measure the position of the shaft.

• The M6274F1009-F has a linear feedback characteristic and can be used to synchronize 90 series slave motors.

Accessories

220736A – A set of internal auxiliary switches; one switch can be added at the place of application of the engine.

220736B – A set of internal auxiliary switches; two switches can be added at the place of application of the engine.

220738A is an adapter bracket that raises the motor shaft above the base by 3/4 inch (19 mm), in order to comply with previous Modutrol models.

220741A – Threaded terminal adapter turns standard quick-release terminals into threaded terminals.

221455A is a smoothly adjustable crank link that can rotate through the lower position and pass near the base of the engine without installing an adapter bracket.

220738A is an adapter bracket for the Modutrol IV engine, which allows you to raise the shaft to the level corresponding to the Modutrol III engines.

4074ERU is a NEMA 3 environmental protection kit for Modutrol IV engines mounted in any position except vertical.

50017460-001 – Built-in transformer; 24/120/230 VAC 50/60 Hz on the primary winding, 24 VAC on the secondary winding, quick-release terminals.

50017460-003 – Built-in transformer; 120 V AC 50/60 Hz on the primary winding, 24 V AC on the secondary winding, quick-release terminals.

221455ADW is a crank link that can rotate through the lower position and pass near the base of the engine without installing an adapter bracket.

Q100 is the drive unit for connecting the Modutrol motor to the V51 throttle valve.

Requires a 220738A adapter bracket.

Q181 – Auxiliary potentiometer for serial or parallel control of additional modulating motors (series 90) in an amount from 1 to 4.

Q5001 – Adapter bracket and drive assembly assembly for connecting the Modutrol IV motor to a water or steam valve.

Q605 is a valve drive unit that allows you to connect the motor to the valve. The kit includes a crank on the motor shaft.

Q607 is an external auxiliary switch, which is used to control auxiliary equipment by a signal of the position of the motor shaft.

ES650-117 is an explosion–proof housing for installing the engine in an explosive atmosphere. Not applicable with Q5001 (or with other valve actuator assemblies).

Location

When choosing a location, leave enough space for installing accessories and servicing the engine. When installing outdoors, use moisture-proof connectors and a junction box that provides protection from external conditions of the NEMA 3 class. When installing outdoors in any position other than vertical, install the 4074ERU

The environmental protection kit and the moisture-proof connectors must provide NEMA 3 class protection.

Mounting

To properly install the M6274F1009-F engine, follow the instructions below:

• Always install the engine so that the crank is positioned horizontally.

• The holes in the mounting flanges extending from the base of the motor housing are designed for the use of mounting screws or bolts with a diameter of 1/4 inch (6.4 mm).

• Motors without spring return are supplied by the manufacturer in the closed position (in the extreme counterclockwise rotation position when viewed from the drive end of the shaft).
