Brahma CM11F 37100204 gas controllers are suitable for controlling atmospheric gas burners with or without a fan in the combustion circuit during intermittent operation.

Brahma CM11F 37100204 controllers can be equipped with a non-volatile or volatile lock; in the first version, restarting the controller from the emergency lock state can only be done by manually resetting the system. In versions with an electric restart, restarting the controller from the emergency lock state can only be achieved by interrupting the power supply and then restoring it.

The CM11F 37100204 gas control units of this series can be installed in:

– steam convectors

– heating boilers

– warm air generators

– radiator tubular heaters

– water heaters

Due to the technical and design features of the models and their variety, they can also be used for automation of ovens, cooktops, ovens and, as a rule, in gas installations with an atmospheric burner.

The flame detection device uses the flame rectification (ionization) property; this device is not equipped with a protective resistance, therefore it is unsafe to touch the detection electrode.

Features

– EU certification type (CE PIN code 0694BR1154) in accordance with Directive 90/396 on gas appliances and the following amendment to Directive 93/68;

– In accordance with EN 298 (European Standard for automatic programming and flame control systems for gas burners);

– Flame control based on the rectifying properties of the flame (ionization);

– Two independent safety contacts in series at the outlet of the gas valve (models with manual reset);

– Service life of electrical equipment at max. declared load > 250,000 operations;

– Built-in fully solid-state ignition device with high efficiency;

– Auxiliary contact for low-power ignition or control of the main gas valve in intermittent power control systems (this contact is not isolated from the main supply voltage by reinforced insulation, therefore the relay contact is not suitable for controlling SELV circuits

– Manual reset

– Single flame

– Atmospheric without fan

– Complies with EN298: 1993

– Complies with EN298:2003 (2)

– Classification code according to EN 298 (3) AMCLXN

Construction

The housing, made of plastic and self-extinguishing material, protects the controller from mechanical damage caused by falling, hardening, ingress of dust and dirt from the external environment. The size of the printed circuit board has been reduced due to a module with electronic components mounted on the surface. The varistor protects the controller from power surges in the network. The built-in fuse protects the internal relays of the controller in case of a short circuit at the outputs (valves, fan and lock signal); this fuse is not available, so the controller must be protected from the outside with a high-speed fuse suitable for the connected load and not exceeding 3.15A

Connection

The use of non-reversible connectors with a different number of poles makes the connection simple and reliable. Single-sided quick-release connectors of various sizes for ignition and detection electrodes ensure their easy installation and replacement. An ignition device with two outputs allows you to generate a spark at one point (a), two points (b) or between two electrodes isolated from the metal frame of the burner (c). As for connecting the controllers, it is necessary to ensure voltage relief and a sufficient number of grounding and neutral terminals. It is present in the device or in external connection boxes.

The principle of operation

At each startup, the controller performs self-monitoring of its components. During pre-purge or standby (TW), the internal circuit checks the flame signal amplifier. A parasitic flame signal or a malfunction in the amplifier prevents the controller from starting. In models with fan control, before starting pre-purging, the controller checks whether the air pressure switch contact is in the “no air flow” state. Only in case of a positive test result, the fan turns on, and when the air pressure switch is switched to the “air flow” position, the pre-purge time begins. After the waiting time or pre-purge has expired, power is supplied to the gas valve and voltage is applied to the ignition device, and thus the safety time (TS) begins. If a flame is detected during a safe time, the ignition device is blocked, and in models where it is provided, an independent auxiliary contact (or control of the main valve) switches from the “off” mode to the flame detection mode. If no flame is detected during the safe time, the controller switches to blocking at the end of TS, and thus the gas valve and ignition device are turned off during blocking, and power is supplied to the output signal.
