Design

Spark transformer BRAHMA T18 15510001 consists of column-type transformers, i.e. ignition transformers equipped with 2 primary windings and 2 secondary windings. All types are insulated with a special separator with a high degree of insulation. High voltage insulation is achieved using a special type of vacuum cast polyester resin. The body is made of pressed metal coated with enamel. Each transformer is identified by the letter T (transformer), one or more numbers designating the model, and sometimes some letters related to the specific mounting system.

If the fastening system used is a standard one, the corresponding recommendation letter is not indicated in the part description. For example, the part designation T8 refers to a transformer with a standard mounting system, while the part designation T8/G corresponds to a T8 transformer with a different mounting system. High-voltage transformers BRAHMA T18 15510001 may have the same electrical characteristics, but different mounting systems, or vice versa.

Compound

The high voltage insulators used in the BRAHMA T18 15510001 ignition devices are of two different types, depending on how the connection to the high voltage cables is made using a screw or a 6.3mm diameter Rajah type cylindrical terminal.

Installation

– Carefully! Dangerous voltage may be present.

– Connect and disconnect the ignition transformer only after disconnecting the power source.

– Comply with applicable national and European standards (eg EN 60335-1 / EN 60335-2-102) regarding electrical safety.

– Make sure that the transformer ground and the electrical system ground are well connected.

– Locate a single grounding center, thereby preventing the formation of ring paths of grounding conductors.

– The device can be installed in any position.

– Reduce the length of the ignition cable to a minimum (this reduces parasitic capacitance and the possibility of the ignition cable acting as an antenna transmitting interference to nearby cables).

– Route the ignition cables along a separate path close to the ground planes (this reduces the influence of interference on other electrical wires).

– Avoid placing high voltage cables near other cables.

– Make sure that the degree of protection is appropriate for the system.
