Honeywell VR4605CB1009B gas regulators are designed for effective control of gas flow in home heating systems, boilers and water heaters. They perform standard functions and can be supplemented with various options, such as pressure regulators, throttle valves, devices for smooth ignition, two-level regulation and gas flow control. In addition, the Resideo VR4605CB 1009B Compact Automatic gas valves are capable of working with various power sources, including mains and low-voltage, and have different throughput capacities.

These regulators are equipped with two electrical actuators: one for controlling a safety valve of class A or B according to EN 161, and the other for controlling the main valve of class B, C or J according to EN 161. They are suitable for working with various types of gases, including MFD Group A (G110), MFD Group B (G120), natural gas H (G20), natural gas L (G25) and liquefied gas LP (G30).

Management functions

• Maximum operating pressure 45 mbar

• Control flow rate of 0.1 m3/h (min)

• Leakage requirements according to EN 126

• Capacity (by air) 3.1 m3/h with a pressure drop of 3 mbar

• Softlite pressure 5 mbar -3.5/+0 after 1.5 s

Standard conditions

1. Indication of the flow rate in cubic meters per hour (m3 /h).

2. Registration of the output pressure using a sensor connected to a half-inch pipe, the length of which is 10 times the diameter of the pipe. This is done through a short hose, the length of which is equal to 5 pipe diameters.

3. Rated voltage.

4. Vertical position, meaning that the actuators are on top.

5. Nominal inlet pressure is 25 millibars, dry air at a temperature of 20 °C.

6. Ambient pressure = 1013 millibars.

7. Ambient temperature = 20 °C.

8. Output diaphragm with a diameter of 2.8 mm.

General provisions

The VR4605 CB 1009B gas solenoid valve has a number of characteristics that can be divided into the following aspects:

1. Compatible with various heating systems: This valve is compatible with various ignition methods, such as DSI, HSI or IP, for the main burner in gas heating systems.

2. Burner control: The main burner is controlled by two-position electrical actuators.

3. Filtration: The valve is equipped with an internal fine-mesh filter on the inlet side. On request, an output strainer can be added.

4. Variety of models: Different models with different valve closing force are available, including B+B, B+J, B+C, A+ J and A+C.

5. Pressure measurement: The valve has pressure measuring fittings on the inlet and outlet sides with an outer diameter of 9 mm. This allows you to control and adjust the burner pressure.

6. Convenient installation: The valve can be mounted within a 90° angle in any direction from the vertical position of the two-position electric actuator.

7. Mounting holes: The valve has two threaded mounting holes in the base for convenient mounting on the heating system.

8. Connection with connectors: The two-position actuator is made in a tracking type and has an electrical connector according to DIN standard, which simplifies its connection with AMP connectors.

Principle of operation

The principle of operation of the Honeywell VR4605CB1009 regulator is the automatic control of the gas outlet pressure. This regulator is equipped with a built-in positive feedback system, which ensures reliable closure of the main valve in case of power loss or a change in gas supply. This system guarantees a stable output pressure regardless of input pressure fluctuations. When the regulator releases small volumes of gas, the outlet pressure is adjusted to compensate for pressure differences. If pressure adjustment is not required, the regulator spring can be blocked, which will allow the full pressure of the “servogas” to determine the position of the main valve and control the output pressure.
